Another Look at Needlepoint Nook

Needlepoint Nook is such a versatile Designer Series Paper. The patterns are small and colourful and work so well with a huge variety of products. There are 10 coordinating colours used and most are still "in" I did not originally order the stamp set or dies, but thought I'd get the paper - and of course it got tucked away "until later". Now it's later and I'm finding all kinds of ways to use this paper up.

Bird Ballad Laser Cut Cards are a Must-Have!

One of the very first items I ordered from the new catalogue was the Bird Ballad Laser Cut Cards. They are stunningly beautiful and a fantastic price point. Along with the decorative tin, they make a perfect gift set for a fellow stamper as is, or with a few small paper inserts, a lovely gift of all occasion cards for a friend.
Today was finally the day to break open the box and start making some cards - they aren't doing anyone any good hiding in the box! They are so beautiful, it doesn't really take much to make them beautiful, but it is important to understand that they really do need a piece of coloured card stock glued behind the front panel to be able to truly appreciate the intricacy of the laser cut lace.
June Paper Pumpkin Club - We're Goin' to the beach!
June's "A Little Smile" Paper Pumpkin kit has everyone in my clubs smiling ear-to-ear with the colourful and fun collection of little acknowledgement cards, complete with a carrying pouch. As always the kit came with a great little stamp set and loads of great embellishments - there were even 40 sentiment tags and sparkly sea stars and sand dollars.

It's Graduation Time - Show Them How Proud You Are!
The end of the school year is quickly approaching, and at my house it has been non stop prom and grad preparations for a couple weeks. Grad is a truly special event, and what better way to express how proud you are of a graduate than with a hand made card.

As I was working on a card for my son, a local gift shop that sells my cards called looking specifically for grad cards. Shazam! into production mode I went and whipped off a handful more in various colours. I also decided to step this design up a notch and make a fancy-fold party invitation in the form of a pull-tab easel card. The card comes out of the envelope flat, but you pull the tab and it pops up into a standing easel card.

I will provide a FREE tutorial for the basic cards, and a paid tutorial for the more elaborate stand up cards in my tutorials section because there are a number of specific measurements and instructions to follow - too many for this blog post.
You can of course use school colours to make these more personal, and the mortar board tassels don't have to be gold - that just happened to be what I had on hand. Make your's unique and special.
